Candulor and the University of Marburg have maintained an intensive cooperative partnership for over 15 years
Theory meets practice - for over 15 years: The University of Marburg and Candulor have been setting standards in prosthetic training. The special course model „Setup course according to the GERBER concept with live patient demo from A-Z“ gives students a deep insight into full denture prosthetics from model analysis to complete patient treatment. A concept for prospective dentists to really understand and assess the dental technical implementation for complete dentures and ultimately achieve an optimal solution for the patient.
Prosthetics at university level - taught in a practical way
What began as an idea in 2010 is now an integral part of the Marburg curriculum: an intensive prosthetics course in which prospective dentists not only learn theory, but also set up and fabricate their own dentures under the guidance of experienced dental technicians. Candulor and the Swiss School of Prosthetics (SSOP) accompany the students as they work on the phantom model - including detailed insights into the Gerber philosophy and modern full denture prosthetics.
Live experience instead of gray theory
While working on the phantom model, a patient is treated live: Bite registration, tooth shape and shade selection, fitting in wax, characterization and final integration. This direct practical transfer enables students to gain a deep understanding of the processes and quality criteria in the laboratory and on the patient.
Clear goals for future practitioners
The focus is not on training dentists to become dental technicians - but on providing them with the tools to competently plan, evaluate and manage laboratory work. You will learn how to do this:
- formulate precise specifications
- assess dental results professionally
- to clearly identify optimization potential and thus achieve a high degree of accuracy of fit and a sense of well-being for the patient.
Scientific exchange with added value
The cooperation works in both directions: While the University of Marburg contributes scientific expertise, Candulor provides the corresponding competence from dental technology. This interaction has made the curriculum more sustainable, clearer and more practical.
Continuity despite generational change
With Prof. Dr. Matthias Karl and OA Dr. Daniel Weber, the new team in Marburg is continuing the successful cooperation - a clear sign of the value of the partnership. The course will remain at the heart of the dentistry degree program in the future.
Summary
Candulor and the University of Marburg prove it: High-quality prosthetics are created where dental and dental technology expertise interlock and lead to greater confidence and optimal prosthetic solutions through insight into dental technology practice. So that students can treat safely and patients and patients receive optimal care.
