When you search for "artificial dents" on the Internet, you will probably discover a multitude of options at very different prices. So, how do you choose? Several criteria should guide your choice depending on the work to be done. Étudions-les ensemble.
1| La composition.
Depending on the clinical case, it is important to choose a denture adapted to the treatment. In fact, the companies offering quality products also offer you different types of teeth. In addition to these different strains of dents, there is a research department that carries out in vitro and in vivo tests. The aim is to offer a product adapted to the case to be treated. You will most often find dents made of composite resin, PMMA resin, or PMMA resin with double reinforcement. These are the most widely used materials. Each product has a different degree of elasticity and a different resistance to flexion. These properties take on all their values during implant-portable work or when a natural tooth is used as an antagonist, for example.
The quality of the composition is also responsible for the usability, plus or minus rapidity of the dentures, the resistance to coloration and decoloration. It is important to choose a high-quality product because the patient who invests in the purchase of a dental prosthesis cannot imagine having to change it within a year.
2| La morphologie.
There are different morphologies of prefabricated dents. They are classified according to the angle formed by their cusps as anatomical >30°, semi-anatomical < 30° et non anatomique = 0° mais aussi en fonction de la philosophie à laquelle elles sont destinées, philosophie de montage Gerber, linguale, Sears, TIF...
Les cas de classe d'occlusion II et III vous demanderont une modification occlusale spécifique par meulage sélectif au laboratoire. Example: in a young person, I realize a prosthesis to replace the 44,45,46. The antagonist teeth are natural and well cuspidées, I can consider choosing an anatomical tooth.
The lower jaw has lost its height, I will choose a semi-cuspid denture. If I want to ensure the optimal maintenance of the lower denture, I will opt for a lingual or Gerber type assembly.
